Michael McCormick Marketing Specialist

Crafting Clarity from Complexity: Whether it’s financial services or postage regulations, Michael turns dense topics into compelling content.

Storytelling has always loomed large in Michael McCormick’s life. Children’s books—vividly read by his stage-actor mother—an avid love of visual storytelling, and a voracious appetite for fiction across multiple genres are the driving forces behind his content creation aesthetic.

“Words and images are incredibly powerful,” Michael says. “I’m always striving to imbue whatever I’m working on with as much meaning and relevance as I can. Goal number one—regardless of the audience—is to make sure the most important information is instantly understood, all while making things beautiful. I’m happiest when my work does double duty: getting the main points across while offering some interesting, related information.”

A working designer and communicator specializing in print mediums since 1984, Michael’s career has spanned publishing (including freelance art assignments from Walt Disney and DC Comics), over 20 years of corporate communications and marketing in the financial services sector, and direct mail marketing. His skill set naturally evolved to include writing across a variety of subjects.

“From the start, when my role was officially just ‘designer,’ I never shied away from making copy suggestions to increase the impact of the message or story and better integrate the words and visuals. Over time, I was handed more and more writing assignments, making me something of a one-stop shop for content creation,” Michael concludes.

Michael’s role as Marketing Specialist at SG360° affords him ample opportunity to deploy his full range of creative problem-solving skills. When not engaged in creative endeavors, Michael works to stay on top of U.S. postage standards and special promotions.

Outside the office, Michael enjoys long-distance road cycling, reading, catching up with friends across the country, and traveling with his wife of more than 40 years.
